A Brighter Dawn For PS3!

As Christmas draws close and most of the major releases are already out the news slows down. PS3 owners new and old alike have not had much to cheer about in the run up to the yuletide season this year, what with delays and bad news all the way. Finally however their is some good news, with an on-line expansion pack to the fantastic Warhawk. The on-line only shooter is one of the highlights of the first generation PS3 games and is set to get even better when the Operation: Omega Dawn expansion pack is released in December. For those of you who don’t know Warhawk is an on-line multiplayer shooter that takes place in the air, in ground vehicles or on foot and the new pack expands on the war between the Eucadians and the Chernovans forces continues as the two countries fight to control the high-tech facilities of a critical new battlefield – the Omega Factory. The new map has an industrial night-time setting where players will fight through five new layouts of advanced building complexes and huge industrial towers. The new map supports all existing game modes – including Team Deathmatch, Zone Mode and Capture the Flag – and is the largest combat zone to date for Warhawk!

The pack also features some new units, like the KT-424 Combat Dropship. Which transports 1 pilot, 6 soldiers and 1 ground vehicle; and features a deadly new weapon – the MBEC-3 Heavy Support Cannon. You’ll have loads of opportunity to take full advantage of the new KT-424 Combat Dropship because the new world is full of vertical gameplay which integrates ship decks, raised platforms, and factory rooftops accessible only by airborne deployment.

Operation: Omega Dawn is available from PSN in December.

Get Your Mullets Ready!

Activision have announced that a stand alone wireless guitar will be available form next year that will be compatible with Guitar Hero 3. Gibson have licenced the legendary Les Paul Shape for use with PS3, Wii and 360. There is no news as to when these mighty axes will be out over here or as to what the price-point may be but expect them to create quite a stir when they arrive. So it is truly time for all us failed rock stars to live the dream, man live the dream!
