Feature: Capcom at X10

Moonhead has already touched upon the major Capcom announcements from Microsofts X10 event but here is a slightly more in depth look at a few of the features we can expect from some of their biggest 360 titles coming this year.

Dead Rising 2

Yes, everyone and their dog is waiting for the follow-up to the massive Zombie mincing game Dead Rising. It seems, however Xbox 360 owners may not have to wait quite as long to get their hands on some of the goodness. An Xbox exclusive prologue entitled  Dead Rising 2: CASE ZERO. Available shortly before release of the full game, Dead Rising 2: CASE ZERO, will introduce gamers to former motocross champion Chuck Greene (The main character) and link the original game and the events that await players in the gambling paradise of Fortune City.

Capcom also allowed journalists to get their sweaty palms on the latest demo which gave them the chance to try one of the games newest features – the ability for players to create improvised weapons by combining two items.

Whilst one of Dead Rising’s best features was the ability to use pretty much anything you could find as a weapon The sequel will allow players to combine items to make new weapons.  For example take an innocent water gun, a can of petrol and some gaffer tape and build yourself a flame-thrower or  a garden rake and car battery combine can create an electric zombie prod, nice!

Creating and using combination weapons will not just result in novel ways to tackle Dead Rising 2’s shuffling cast of thousands as the more combo weapons a player uses, the more Prestige Points (PPs) they will rack up. Earn enough PPs and Chuck levels up, which in turn delivers its own benefits.

Capcom are saying that Dead Rising 2: CASE ZERO will be completely stand-alone and obviously will require an Xbox LIVE® membership to download. Now news on a release date or the price but as soon as they let us know we will pass it on!

For those of you with a PS3 or PC you will just have to wait for the full game! In the meantime feast your eyes on our gallery of undead goodness with the new screen shots from X10.

Lost Planet 2

X10 also gave the gaming industry a chance to try out the latest update in the Lost Planet 2 developments. By the screen shot here you may be forgiven for thinking that the inevitable announcement of Gears of War III happened at X10 but no. Actually you will be able to play as Marcus and Dom in Lost Planet 2 as well as Resident Evil’s Albert Wesker. These characters will be available as bonus skins.

Capcom also state that they have listened to gamer feedback and put in place lots of new features on the multi-player side of things, so I guess we will need to play it and see what we think. (sniff) if only we were ever invited to the party!

Well for all you lovely’s here is a collection of the latest screens from X10!

And a trailer too, we really do spoil you!!
