Happy Halloween Everyone!!!

Bioware Next?

News in yesterday claims that Mass Effect developer BioWare have signed up with Lucas Arts to create an interactive entertainment product. The nature of this new venture is anyones guess but a new Knights of The Old Republic game is not out of the question. “Lucas Arts has a deep commitment to developing compelling stories and characters for the unique medium of interactive entertainment, and we have been searching for a developer that shares this value. We found this in BioWare,” said Jim Ward, president of Lucas Arts. “Through our previous collaborations, we know that BioWare has an impressive ability to blend gripping stories with technological advancements, and we believe that our upcoming product will deliver an experience that will span the traditional boundaries of video game entertainment.” So no big claims there then. However, taking into account BioWare’s run of producing quality titles we at G4A are going to be keeping a very close eye on this one!

Resident Wiivil
Capcom have announced that the fantastic Wii version of Resident Evil 4 has shipped over one million copies worldwide. That now means that since the series began back in 1996 it has shipped a massive total of 33 Million units! Capcom have consistently evolved the genre with the fourth iteration being widely regarded as the best so far. (Especially by us here!) Resi’s next outing is again on the Wii when Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles is released on November 13th. Followed next year by the fantastic looking Resi 5 on 360 and PS3. Capcom also have have We Love Golf coming for Wii and we suspect a new Dead Rising game somewhere in the pipeline! Keep it here for the latest news.

The Party Animals Are Coming

Microsoft and Rare seem to be at an impasse , the once heralded developer has been producing games that whilst fun and enjoyable to play, achieve little more that lukewarm reaction. With this in mind a firm release date for Viva Pinata: Party Animals has been set. The party game based on the characters of both the first game and cartoon is due for release on November 16th. Having played the demo only, the game consists of the usual blend of racing, hitting things and button bashing mini-games.  With up to four players simultaneous it could be a bit of fun with your mates but considering the 360’s main audience I would not expect to see this one topping the charts.

Rare had nothing to do with coding duties on Party Animals it is Krome Studios. They are however working on Banjo and Kazooie and a new Perfect Dark game which if the last one is anything to go by is not something to look forward to. We live and hope for a follow up to the N64 classic Blast Corps though.
