Capcom today announced a whole heap of downloadable content for Resident Evil 5 for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Capcom plans to release two new downloadable episodes, a host of new costumes, and a new ‘ The Mercenaries Reunion’ mode, featuring eight new playable characters and weapon load-outs. All of this content will be available for download via Xbox Live and PSN next year.

This will coincide with the Release of the stand-alone Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition featuring the original game and all of the DLC in one box. Although the 360 has the game and a coupon to download the content whilst the PS3 has everything on the disc.

There will be four separate DLC’s in total including two entire new episodes and two costume packs.

The first new episode titled ‘ Lost in Nightmares’, finds the now playable Chris Redfield,  working with his partner, Jill Valentine, as they investigate Ozwell E. Spencer’s hideaway. Spencer, the evil mastermind and co-founder of Umbrella Corporation, has been concealing a new evil deep within the basement of his mansion.

The first costume pack and ‘Lost in Nightmares’ are released on 17th & 18th Feb on 360 and PS3 respectively and will feature ‘ The Mercenaries Reunion’, gives players new playable characters and weapon load-outs which provide players additional challenges as they aim to shoot down as many enemies as they can within a limited time.

The second episode which is as yet unnamed and costume pack are released on the 2nd & 3rd March. Each piece of downloadable content will contain two new playable characters. The Gold Edition will feature all eight.

Lucas arts and Telltale games have announced a December 8th release date for the final part of “Tales of Monkey Island.”

The fifth and final instalment, entitled “Rise of the Pirate God” completes a very successful return for pirate Guybrush Threepwood after a long nine-year absence. Although there are rumours are abound that his demise is upon us. Difficult to believe after all he has endured over the years, defeating the evil pirate Le chuck in his various forms as a ghost, zombie and even a demon.

Telltale games assure us that this will be a grand finale and that all those frustrating questions left open from the last episode “The Trial and Execution of Guybrush Threepwood” will be answered.

The first 4 episodes are available now on Wii/PC and 360 and will cost around £6-ish, each or Telltale are offering the whole set and a DVD on their website No word yet on a PSN release, so no wise cracking, grog drinking fun for you Sony heads just yet!
