Capcom Vs. Who?

New details were released today with regards to Capcom’s upcoming 2D fighter Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars on Wii. For those of you who don’t know Tatsunoko are one of Japan’s leading Anime houses, so the roster of characters is looking quite healthy.

Featuring a huge list of some of Capcom’s greatest heroes and the lesser-know Tatsunoko characters this game is looking mightily impressive. With 3D rendered characters battling it out in familiar 2D style the game borrows a great deal of its graphical style from Street Fighter 4.

With a simplified 4-button control system Ultimate All Stars should be relatively easy for gamers to pick up and play but there are also loads of massive combos and special moves to access once you scratch the surface. These include: Aerial Rave air combos, Delayed Hyper Combos, Mega Crash defensive moves, Assault attack moves and the Baroque extended combo system.

Controller options are also helpful as the game will work with a number of different control devices, including the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, Classic Controller, GameCube Controller and various third-party joysticks designed for the Wii.

Also, announced today is a 2D upwards  scrolling shooter mini-game called Ultimate All Shooter that will also be included in the title, featuring a whole heap of 2-player simultaneous mayhem. It is extras like this that really add value to Capcom’s releases.

Here are the characters so far confirmed for the game:

For Capcom:

Ryu, Chun-Li (Street Fighter),

Batsu (Rival Schools),

Alex (Street Fighter III),

Morrigan (Darkstalkers),

Soki (Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams),

Mega Man Volnutt (Mega Man Legends),

Roll (Mega Man),

Saki (Quiz Nanairo Dreams),

Viewtiful Joe,

PTX-40A (Lost Planet),

Frank West (Dead Rising) and more to be announced.

And for Tatsunoko:

Ken the Eagle,

Jun the Swan (Science Ninja Team Gatchaman or Battle of The Planets to us!!),

Yatterman No. 1, Doronjo (Yatterman),

Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars is due for release on January 29th on Wii and it certainly is one to look out for!
