Abstergo Baby!

Those busy fellows at Ubisoft have been at it again, this time with the launch of a teaser website called Abstergo Industries.

As most of you will know Abstergo Industries is the corporation you are battling against in that Assassin’s Creed games. So far we have not received any word as to whether this is a countdown to a full sequel or more DLC for Assassin’s Creed 2 but we will surely let you know as soon as we do.

You can check out the mysterious Abstergo Industries website here:

Little Planet, Big Story!!

Word reaches us today that a sequel to Sony’s massive hit LittleBigPlanet is on the way! Not much is yet known about LittleBigPlanet 2 but Media Molecule (The games developers) are claiming that a new improved graphic engine and new visual techniques will make the game just as jaw dropping as the original!

Sackboy will now have lots of new tools to help him on his quests including a grappling hook, power gloves, a magic bag, and more, all sewn up (No pun intended) in a  storyline  that is set in an artistically modernized new world. Players will also have the opportunity to add customizable Sackbots (robot Sackboys) to their creations. These interactive, programmable characters bring the game to life and allow users to record animations and voice-overs with them, as well as customize sizing and clothing for each individual or group of Sackbots.

LBP2 will also be backwards compatible with the first game allowing players to make use of the loads of user-created content available on-line.

Those levels were created by users utilizing the same tool set used by the development team. In LittleBigPlanet 2, the tools have evolved to allow users to not only make better levels, but completely new games. With the implementation of a new ‘create’ mode, players will have the ability to broaden their developer horizons across multiple genres. Now allowing for a higher level of gameplay control, players can reset the control buttons for any object and change the rules to any level—imagine racing games, flying games, and shooters–you can now take control of anything! Also included are new multiplayer abilities so games can have life meters, scoring, and other elements to advance the types of games available for a social/competitive multiplayer experience, including puzzle games, sports, action/adventure, and more. Added to these is a movie-like cut-scene maker to improve the storyline components of each creation and a newly enhanced share component making it easier to search for, play through, and showcase the millions of levels around the world.

LittleBigPlanet is still one of the PS3’s stand-out titles and if the features listed for the sequel are as well implemented as those in the first game then LBP2 will be something truly amazing. There is no word on a possible release date but as soon as we hear anything we will let you know.  For now we have a gallery of screens for you!
